My husband wore a cowboy hat when we first started going together . I trusted him then and I trust him now. In this part of the country, cowboys aren't "passe", but looked up to. A cowboy isn't what you wear, it's what you are on the inside.

Cowboys are only passe' at the bar you hang out in. You need to get out and see some of the country; Some places, they won't talk to you if you DON'T wear a cowboy hat.

LOL! You're a funny guy.

I wish that jackass (Uncle Fester) had the balls to come down and run his mouth in front of them.

I don't trust people who are trying to make a big strong impression. If that means being a cowboy even though they were raised and still live in the city, then I wouldn't trust him. Likewise, a gangster-wanna-be who was raised in middle class America. If he can't even be true to himself, then why would he be true to me? It is just too insincere.

No, they're not "passe." Cowboys are for real in the west. They still have roundups and brand cattle. Cowboys still work on ranches in the Southwest and West. Why wouldn't I trust them? I hope this helps.
