Back in 2004, when John was still on Smackdown and Carlito was first introduced. John and Carlito had their feud and Carlito supposedly "stabbed" John in some night club in Boston and John was supposedly "healing" from his stab wounds, that's when he filmed the movie.
John was away for like 3 months and that's when he filmed the movie..

He actually made the movie back in 2004 when he was on Smackdown and he was out when they said Jesus Aguilera, Carlito's bodyguard may have stabbed him in a nightclub in the kidney area. This was back when Cena was the US Champ

He filmed the movie back when he was on smackdown and he was feuding with Carlito. It was when he was out of action because he was "stabbed" in the kidney by Jesus (carlitos associate)

The fact that it doesn't seem like he had enough time to do the movie sort of proves that the movie may indeed be horrible.

i heard from several websites that he did it back in 2004.when he was in a feud with carlito on smackdown he was out for a couple of months.
