I had my ovaries removed 3 years ago. I will not lie to you it will be a roller coaster at times. But as long as she is taking her medication,,oh boy will she ever want to..(have sex). It will take a while for her medication levels to get where she needs to be...but all will be fine. Make sure she keeps her check ups even though she doesn't have ovaries...best wishes...

that is a hard question. How does your gfriend feel mentally about this operation? If it is hard on her or if she wanted kids that can cause some sexual problem because of her mental state. For some women it is very hard to except you can't have kids, some do not feel like a women any more just because they can't do the one thing that keeps us apart from men. I know it might sound kind of stupid but this can be a HUGE problem for the women and mostly mentally. It can be hard for the man to but if you are commited to her and a strong person you can help pull her thru this.

Also if the doctor puts her on hormones to keep her body from changing to soon then her hormone level might stay the same or move around a bit until she is on the right size doze she needs and it also can change her sexually for a bit until her hormone levels are normal again. It might not be as easy as take a pill right after surgery and be normal. They have to find the right medication for her and the right dose. Just be patient She will be ok it just can be tricking messing with hormones.

There are many different ways to deal with the hormone change that she will be going through. And even a sense of loss she may have perhaps. I know that there are more natural ways of dealing with hormones, instead of the pills that the Dr., will want to prescribe, like putting much more Soy proteins into your diet for instance. Checking with a natural medicine Dr. would be a great way for her to deal with it naturally. Or even going back on the birth control pill even though she doesn't need it for birth control, it will help her to remain more, in her normal state of hormones.
But she may , depending on her state of mind, enjoy sex more after. Because there are not fears of pregnancy, etc.
But I know that if she sees a herbal Dr.,, that her hormones can be regulated naturally, and still not have the dryness, sideffects. And lead a very healthy sex life.

That is really a question for the doctor.

However, you may be surprised that contrary to the myth - menopause doesn't usually cause loss of libido, and many women feel a lot sexier (and have more orgasms) in the postmenopausal part of their life.
