Normally I would say go and help the guy, as it appears that he was attacked unprovoked and you were a witness to that. However there are a few things you need to consider. Were you actually there when the incident happened or are you only going off information that was later given to you? Also, these 'friends' of yours why are they expecting you to get involved, it's their argument and therefore for them to sort out. You shouldn't need to be involved if you are their friend and have got such split loyalties. Also, your dad has a point, if you are hanging around with people who can only solve their difference through violence and the courts are they really people you want to get involved with? What's next manslaughter or murder? You need to be careful who you choose as friends and what sort of an effect being their friend is going to have on your quality of life. The short of it all is think carefully before you value 'friendship' over doing what is right for you. People say stuff about other people all the time, so let them do their worst if doing what is right offends either one of them in anyway. They are being selfish by refusing o consider your feelings so give them a taste of their own medicine and be selfish for you.

Friends are important but sometimes you have to consider whether or not your friendship is important to them.

If this is what it comes down to, their friendship isn't worth it. I guess you should just get ready for whatever your friends throw at you. If she spills your secrets, get ready for the consequences. If he's spreading lies about you, than prepare for that too. Do what's right and be the witness to his case, too.

It's hard but there's only one option: The Now. There's no later. Deal with everything.

It's not easy...however am sure you know who is right & who is wrong....Keep away from all of them & if you're ask to be the witness then you'll have no choice....what to do if your gal friend will spill out you're secrets...that's the conciquence......just be ready...

One way just ignore & said you're not involve with any of them & both of them are mad....& ignore all their saying & be positive on yourself . Do inform both of them , that you do not want to have nothing to do with them anymore ...untill the case is settle & close....either thy're on or off...as simple as that....

It's better now than later.....just be yourself & at least you know that she's not that perfect....there's still many good people out there.....this is only a test for you....don't take it too hard....GBU

File a restraining order against this guy. Don't testify, refuse.
If forced, via subpoena, then you have no choice.

But to protect yourself, you need to file a cease and desist order against the guy to make him stop spreading lies about you.
