No. we have memorial day for that.
You have a federal national holiday on September 11th then you have to have another one on April 19th for the Oklahoma City bombing. and make Pearl Harbor day on December 7th national Holiday too.
A national Holiday is a day when non-essential government is closed, the banks are closed, nor can elections can't be held on those days.
I think we need to keep it just as it is a day of remembrance just like Pearl Harbor day.

No. To make it a holiday would cheapen the event in the long run. Although it is not something that will ever be forgot, like most holidays over time it would just be commercialised - rather than being a somber day for reflection of what happened, people would use the day of to go shopping, go to the beach, have a party, ect. There would be no thought of the tragic events that happened. So in order to respect the day, i would not suggest that it becomes a national holiday

NO. It would be terrible if this solemn day of remembrance became one for end of summer barbeques, blow out sales or the like. It would also be a great expense for the tax payer when we need the money to fight the war on terror. I do think every American should fly their flag and remember all those who died because of these evil fascists. Remember we all thought initially that 50,000 people were killed in the World Trade Center. The terrorists would have been all the happier if that had happened. September 11th should never be forgotten and always remembered with firm resolve that it never happen again so that those who died are forever honored.

If that means making it an excuse for drinking and overeating, I'm not for it. Or another reason to have a sale on mattresses or cars, no. At one time people were very pationate about making November 11 a holiday. Now, a lot of people don't even know what happened then. What ever holidays are supposed to make us feel, patriotism or loyalty, then we should try to feel it all year round.

No way. 9-11 ought to continually be remembered, not in hassle-free terms as quickly as a year. If we made it a countrywide holiday, human beings might merely use it as an excuse to get off paintings or college, no person might actually bear in ideas that day and each and all the heroes that emerged from it. Like Veteran's Day, some human beings do not even understand why we get an afternoon off. they're merely happy they did. that is unhappy.

No, I don't think so. Holidays are a happy time, days to celebrate things. You can't really find much to celebrate in a day where over 3,000 innocent Americans lost their lives to terrorist attacks. Even Pearl Harbor isn't an official holiday. I just don't see what we can "celebrate" about these attacks. So no, it should not be a holiday.

September 11 can be a holiday for Muslim Fanatics because it is a victory for their struggle but it cannot be a holiday in the US because that day symbolizes defeat for not knowing that their country is not invincible to its enemies.

A day of remembrance - but not a national holiday. There is nothing to celebrate, only to remember

Oh, HELL YES!!!!! This a day of remembrance of the worst act of terrorism upon American soil. The huge loss of life, the ultimate sacrifice some gave, I'd have to say we must honor Patriot's Day, aka, 9/11/2001. I took it personally, and I WILL NEVER FORGET!!!
