I still have problems with 9/11. I can't go near the WTC site, I will do anything to avoid going there.
There is no good reason that it had to happen. We've been abandoned and betrayed, and it doesn't feel good at all.

I am sorry for you loss. The memorial lights must be astonishing. I did not lose any friends or family on that horrible day, but I know quite a few people who did; so I have seen the ongoing pain and sense of loss. They all feel as if it just happened, even though they know it was five years ago. I just keep praying that something like this will never happen again. I also keep praying for the remaining friends and family, and our troops overseas that are fighting for our continuing freedoms. I did have some friends that had to fly today for business reasons, and I held my breathe until I heard from them tonight about 4 hours later than we had thought, because of all the checks and security and delays. You just have to keep you friend in your heart, and live your life in a positive light. That is your best gift to his memory.

I think we as UNITED AMERICANS have all lost a piece of us on that day five years ago. I never actually lost anybody but to see these pictures on the internet of mothers, fathers, husbands, wives cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters, and brothers jumping from 100 stories up, and knowing the fear that they suffered and the pain and the agony. I am so proud of my friends that are in the military...it really does bring me grat honor...and I dont care what the media says...we are in war for the right reasons. I see the tears roll down my face and the other faces and I think...wow humanity does have a soft spot, we all are affected by this, and we all unite during theis dredful day, when strangers walk with one another. We see that we all do need each others help, but it really does have to happen all the time. I love NYC it is the greatest city in the world. It is so beautiful, I am so sorry of ryour loss and I wish you the best...remember what does not kill us only makes us stronger. And our loved one is not dead if we find a way to cherish and still love that person. He or she is not dead...just in a better place in spirit...so be happy for them that they are in a better place. Love always prevails.... *God Bless*

I'm 65 years old and I've outlived a good many of my friends. I don't know of any who died in the 9/11 attacks, but I've lost friends in wars, accidents and to disease.
I don't think it is ever easy to lose a friend, whatever the cause. However we accept death as a part of life and I am grateful for being allowed to go on living for whatever time I might have.
Remember that the terrorists who hijacked those airlines would have killed you had you been in the wrong place. You were fortunate enough to have not been in that wrong place. Your friend didn't share that good fortune.
Remember him as he was when he was alive. Nobody can ever take that away from you. Be strong for his memory as he most likely would have tried to be had your positions been reversed.
God bless and keep you.

I live in Canada's north so I didn't lose anyone close to me that day. I feel the loss none the less because I too have lost people who are close to me.
As time passes it seems to get easier to remember the good times, but not a day goes by that I will ever forget what happend on 09/11/01.
I hope you find peace in knowing that they are watching over us.
God bless you and all who lost loved ones.

It's a priviledge to see what you are seeing now. wish I was there to pay my respects. I did not lose anyone personally but I feel for all that was lost. This day will never be forgotten. I play Darryl Worley CD song "Have You Forgotten" all day long. Check it out cause it's pretty deep.
I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fighting for
CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yes, some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

I am sorry for your loss. I personally did not lose anyone from this tragic event.
But life has to go on. And moving on with life doesn't necessary mean taking away some one else's loved one. Neither will one feel good or powerful by taking away another life. Unless, one is not human. I agree with the saying "turn pain into power".
I believe the most powerful are the ones who can forgive and continue to love and appreciate other humankind, regardless of race, religion, culture or language.

When are going to let go? America needs to move foward, I respect those who lost a love one in the war in iraq and in the WTC. We just can't cry every 9/11 even in next generations.

The responsibility is ours to ensure that those who attacked us are found and eliminated. Forget where they are just go there and wipe them out. If other countries lack the guts to take on terrorist then they should be cut off from any aid and left to fend for themselves. The US should let the rest of the world know that any attack like the one on 9/11 will result in our full military power, including nuclear weapons, will be used to make the area the terrorist are in unfit for human habitation for hundreds of years. Tough luck for the poor country that lets them stay.

I wish I could see it. No I didn't lose anyone there. I live in Mississippi and we had a terrible hurricane. Lots of people died, but that was a natural disaster. What happened in NYC was mass murder. I'm sure the murderers are burning in hell right now.
I'm sorry for your loss. I felt sad all day thinking about those poor people in the planes and buildings.
