I haven't experienced this for myself, but it is known that during pregnancy, there are contractions called Braxton Hicks; they are caused by the muscles in the uterus tightening...some physicians believe that this may play a part in toning the uterine muscle and promoting blood flow to the placenta....
Some triggers of Braxton Hicks are increased activity, touching of the belly, a full bladder, post-sex, and dehydration...
Now, please do not let this be any diagnosis for what you are feeling...just make sure that you check with a health care professional for their opionion.
Hope this helps though! Good luck, and many blessings for you and your new baby!!! ;-)

If having pain that is intermittent then time them. If they are repeating at specific intervals and moving closer together over time call your OB.
If pain is just to the side of the belly (on one side or other or both) and constant, it could just be the stretching of the tendons that support your abdomen. I had that with my 2nd pregnancy.
Back pain is pretty normal as your body adjusts to the added weight in the front. You gradually start to compensate for the extra load.
Call your ob if the pain continues for an extended amount of time.

More than likely it is normal. But to make sure see your doctor. The stomach and back pains could be from your muscles in your stomach stretching. Now are you sure your not having Braxton Hicks contractions?

It is normal to have aches, pains, discomfort. And it is normal to worry about it. If you are really worried, call your doctor. If any of the pains are sharp or get really bad, go to the hospital right away. If you have any bleeding, get to the hospital right away.

yes...you should be concerned and consult your obgyn doctor.
if the pain worries you that much, maybe you should go to the emergency room and be checked out, just to be on the safe side.
your baby's life is too fragile to take chances with.

if you are EVER concerned about anything in your pregnancy, the first person you should ask is your doctor. and listen to your gut, sometimes docs are wrong. My grandma would have one more daughter if the doctor had listened to my grandmother about the pain she was in.
