They have here in Minnesota. There are numerous trains that run throughout the downtown Minneapolis area. And soon there is a train that will run from Minneapolis up to St. Cloud, about 75 miles away, with stops along the way.

Amtrak is around, but with all the stops along the way, I don't think it will be a popular mode of transportation. Bart and the L are great in big cities, but most people like the freedom that a car gives them. More people these days are carpooling.

Maybe, but not likely. Amtrak is a losing proposition. We've been subsidizing it with tax dollars for a long time.
