I am not an anti-semite or anti-Israel, but I have always wondered, why is it fair that land was taken from other people to give to them because of the atrocities committed during WWII against their people as a whole? If we think that is fine, shouldn't we basically give our entire country back to the Indians?

I understand where you're coming from. However, during that time of post-war, the Allies did win that territory and gave it to jewish people who were nomads for generations and everywhere they seemed to go, people generaly wanted to get rid of them.
Nobody says that it's fair to allocate territory from war, however that's how many countries were formed, like countries in Africa and even good ol' America. One of the compensation of winning a war back in the day was that you got to keep the territory!
The Allies had the right to give that land to whomever they wanted and probably that was the best choice at the time. Palestinians though lived there and that's one thing they didn't consider or didn't think would cause a problem. We know now.
Sad, but all's fair in war and....land.

Israel is a country. Look in the Rand McNally Atlas. They wouldn't have had to go there in bulk. If the Nazi's and some other European nations had left them alone in the first place. They would never have become a military super power. If there was no organized national( Mostly German, but previously Russian,Swiss,French) annihilation attempt(s) to make them extinct. Now it's a joint effort between the National Alliance,KKK and Militant Muslim extremists. The other country the UN had for them was Madagascar. Why that was not the choice. I don't know. Where they live now. That was a desert before they moved there. Jerusalem was the only major city in the area. Jews lived there for thousands of years in higher numbers compared to the other groups. So, it is their historical homeland. Just like England is the historical homeland of Anglo-Americans or Africa is for African-Americans.

You might consider doing a bit more research on this topic. I'm not sure the reason Israel has the land it has is due to any "atrocity" committed against them during WW2.

I guess you don't understand that the jews have been in that area before Christ was born, there were no borders, land was given by tribe, all of whom had there own rules! Rome also ruled for a period of time! It Belonged to ROME! Not to anyone else! No other tribe!

Why shouldn't they have land that they occupied for thousands of years, unlike us who just cam over here and murdered Indian men, women and children, and then the Mexicans! Do you know how big of piece of desert they have?

Israel was roughly the size of the state of New Jersey, stretching 424 km (263 mi) from north to south. Its width ranged from 114 km (71 mi) to, at its narrowest point, 10 km (6.2 mi). After the June 1967 War, Israel occupied territories totaling an additional 7,099 km² (2,743 mi²). These territories include the West Bank, 5,879 km² (2,270 mi²); East Jerusalem (annexed, according Israeli law), 70 km² (27 mi²); and the Golan Heights (de facto annexation), 1,150 km² (444 mi²).

Does the United States have a right to exist? For that matter does any country have a right to exist? Most countries started in land that belonged to "other people".

Who are we to say why the jews moved there? It was all individual decisions, just like people decided to move to america.
Anybody living anywhere deserves to exist. The world belongs to everybody.
The only reason we have governments is so that the land we live on is civilized.

Very simple, if single person live alone bachelor, if two or more family, if few families village, a centre village link all other villages town, if centre town link all other towns city, if more cities link to one city capital, so a place with capital call as a country, I think Israel fulfil these criteria..

Because if Israel wasn't a country, who would we have to give all our tax money to? To date they have ignored more UN resolutions than all the other other Middle Eastern countries combined. Luckily, they have us to veto any action the UN wants to take. They have it made.

The Jews didn't have any other place to call home. They deserved a home. If the Arabs care so much about the Palestinians then why don't they carve up a home for them between themselves? The Native American analogy doesn't apply for many reasons. 1) They don't pay taxes. 2) They get free education. 3) They get government money. 4) They have free land too. The government goes out of its way to help Native Americans.
