The big advantage is they cut down on the wear of your carpet, though you never see the carpet because of the floor mats. But, on the driver side your heel at the gas pedal can wear the carpet more quickly as it positioned more in the same place all the time.

To keep it clean of course.. but where i use dot live in Canada where you would often enter the car with slushy boots, those carpets protect the bottom of the car from rusting out becasue of all that salty slush.
It is easier to just shake the dust and rocks out of carpets rather than take to vacuum out and get it done that way.. I am a 2 timnes a year vacuumer and more frequent shaker!

I took mine out and put in cheap carpet over the new carpet for better resale. Floor mats move around and make me nuts.

easier to clean up without use of a vaccuum cleaner. also good if u accidently step on pooh and got in your car.
