It worked in Hiroshima, but dropping atomic bombs on the Middle East would render the oil, which is ours by right, inaccessible for decades.

The oil belongs to us.
A better way to go would be massive ground invasions in countries like Iran and Syria - which has to happen eventually, in order to eradicate two key state sponsors of terrorism.

Well, three major world religions, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam for one.

The Muslims were nice enough to preserve western civilization during the dark ages for us. While we were living in castles and hacking each other to pieces they were maintaining things like classical philosophy and literature in their libraries.
Besides, if you nuked the middle east that would probably lead to a global nuclear winter and we would all die.

Seems siince time began the middle east has been a hot bed of wars over evrything including religion. While nuking them would solve a lot of probs. we can not become the barbaric peoples that they r.
