yes and I did exactly that at age 27. It is actually a partial hysterectomy. It is best to keep your ovaries if you want to live as normal a life as possible. Even so, I had no estrogen by age 42 and had to take synthetic estrogen. The uterus plays a role in supplying hormones as well as the ovaries.

Yes. If your ovaries are healthy, they do not need to be removed during a hysterectomy. It is better if they are not removed; especially if you have not gone through menopause, since it is your ovaries that help regulate your hormones.

Yes, my mom had a hysterectomy and was able to keep one of her ovaries so that she would not go directly into menopause.

I had a hysterectomy a few months ago, and the surgeon could leave the ovaries. The doctors really won't decide until they see them.

i had my hysterectomy 7 weeks ago. i kept my ovaries, which is a good thing because i also kept my sex drive!
