NO!! 100% untrue! Many people have friends of the opposite sex for many years or maybe even a life time. They might start going out after many years of friendship but that's most likely to happen on tv than in real life. Most girls are super close to their guy friends because they're tomboys. But you don't have to be a tomboy to have a super close guy friend.
Some friends wouldn't be able to stand being a couple. Take the episode of That's So Raven for example when Eddy and Raven try to be together. It just didn't work.

they can be just friends,good friends..but if one likes another and the other doesnt feel the same way,then the friendship becomes a bit weird...
A guy and a girl can be friends. But sooner or later one will fall for the other. Maybe too early, maybe too late, but maybe, just maybe forever

yeah they can... but it's tricky because one or the other or both end up with some attraction and they either have to ignore it or act on it. My husband and i were JUST friends but look at us now married with a baby... we're so happy together but sometimes i wonder how we got here after being JUST friends for so long.

Not true. Alot of girls I've tried to sleep with I ended up just becoming friends with them because I just gave up trying to get in thier pants andsaw them for who they really are. But one day, they'll get drunk and hop all over me...... I hope.

i find it much easier to be friends with guys than girls...I'm not a very prissy girl tho...most of my best friends have been guys...my best friend in the whole world for 5 years was a male and without him i wouldn't be here today...

That's a load of rot...I have male friends that I have no romantic interest in whatsoever, and they have no interest in me...well in that way, of course you can be friends with members of the opposite sex...it would be a pretty screwed up(more so than it already is) world if we couldn't...
