Well we were up until the 80s and Bush Sr needed a war.. thinking a war victor president always gets re-elected... sometimes I do wonder about this.
I highly doubt Bush Jr would have gotten re-elected without this war on terror. Right now that is the only thing he has 50+% approval on .
