while seeing the answers of shiri poondi sir, shri MS sir, shri Harithaji and others which are so elaborate and well explained, but i wish to answer some points. No wonder harithaji stressed that you wish to toe your line in giving answer. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in his book "Pakistan or the Partition of India" writes: "Mr. Jinnah says India should be cut up into two, Pakistan and Hindustan. The muslim nation to occupy Pakistan and the Hindu nation to occupy Hindustan. Mr. Savarkar on the other hand insists that, although there are two nations in India, India shall not be divided into two parts, one for the muslims and the other for the Hindus, that the two nations shall dwell in one country and shall live under the mantle of one single constitution; that the constitutions shall be such that the Hindu nation will be enabled to occupy a predominant position that is due to it and the Muslim nation made to live in the position of subordinate co-operation with the Hindu nation". In 1942, at the time of the Cripps mission from the British Parliament to India, Rajagopalachari was among the minority of top Congress leaders who favored acceptance of the offer made by Cripps in an effort to end the political deadlock. In 1946 Rajagopalachari maintained his posture as a moderator when he advised acceptance of the Pakistan demand as the price which had to be paid for independence. Also in 1946, he became minister in the interim government which guided India in the final months up to partition and independence. Dr. Ambedkar further states: "This alternative of Mr. Savarkar to Pakistan has about it a frankness, boldness and definiteness which distinguishes it from the irregularity, vagueness and indefiniteness which characterizes the Congress declarations about minority rights". Therefore, to say that Savarkar was responsible for the creation of partition is to spread lies, untruth and venom to mislead people. At the end of his five year confinement in Ratnagiri, Savarkar joined Tilak's Swaraj Party and founded the Hindu Mahasabha as a separate political party. He warned of the Muslim League's designs of partitioning the nation. In 1937, Savarkar was elected President of the Hindu Mahasabha. He toured the nation widely and delivered the simple message that followers of Vedism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism were all Hindus.
