alright, I just got a 360, I want to know if it's better on the system and the games to stand it up or lay it down? Thanks.

I have mine lying down because I'm used to putting in discs that way. As far as better for the system, I don't think it really matters as long as it's in a well ventilated area (so don't just stand it on it's side so it can fit next to your TV in the Entertainment Center).

As others have said, having it vertical or horizontal makes no difference so long as you have adequate room around the system for ventilation.
I'd just like to add that whatever orientation you choose, do *not* change it while a disk is in the drive. You'll risk scratching the disk if you lay it down or stand it up. If you want to see the ring of light change orientation, take the disk out of the drive first.

It's designed to work either way. As long as it's securely placed, and has room in the back for ventilation, you'll be fine whichever one you choose. I kept mine horizontal to stay consistent (all my other components are horizontal).

To play it safe put it down, studies show that it improves lags on some games. To play it cool put it up!
