I really don't know if it can be attained, but I believe we must start with ourselves, and teach our children by our example. The more good we can do, and the more we can go out of our way to help others, and show them respect, the better the chances of peace. I think we should all make the effort to support peace initiatives wherever we can, and never give up trying. We will only have a chance of achieving peace in the world if we all pull together and really try. Governments should TALK to each other more, bnuild bridges between peoples, and LISTEN to what the others have to say. Peace should be taught in schools, and at university. Violent video games, and movies, and weapons, should be banned and destroyed.
What do you all think?

I am sure you will get many answers to this question...or should I say more questions that answers. Peace is dear to the hearts of the vast majority of humanity...unfortunately humans are very sheep like, they do not stand up for individuality, they mostly find themselves compelled to follow the dictats of some religion, business corporation or government. It is the old tribal mentality and it links to the most basic of human instincts, namely FEAR. Eliminate fear in the human psyche and we will be on the way to a more peaceful future.

by someone formulating a unifying new religion based on veneration of the natural world which sustains us all.
a religion that isnt dogmatic or race based, that every single nation on earth can join and be part of.
people are tired of irrelevant and worn out old truths which divide people.
people want to be part of something that is wholesome all embracing and totally positive in its consequences.
why not worship your true creator; the earth, rather than some useless abstraction.
maybe this would be a way forward also for a large section of the scientific community who have religious feelings, but feel faiths are absurd.

Can never be achieved. Animals in the animal kingdom do not even have peace, and we are just as much as animals as they are. Peace does not exist sorry to say.

easy.... get rid of all of those talibans n everybody else who belive's in "jihad", holy war. for start, bush should stop wasting money n lives sending soldiers to war. instead he should send nuclear missles to a few muslim country's as a sign of wht would happen to the rest of those muslim moron's, well after tht i'm sure everybody else would live in peace including those remaining muslim's.

We can not have peace. Have you not seen the hate mongers on this forum alone, they can not agree to disagree. Rather it be religion or politics.
