I think you should go to your friend's birthday party. If your nose starts to bleed, excuse yourself to the bathroom and take care of it. If you can't stop the bleeding, then go home. It may not even bleed and you would be robbing yourself of the chance to celebrate the birthday of your friend.

I came across this website, it might be able to help you http://www.linkjesus.com/nosebleed.htm. If you don't like any of those ideas though, maybe you could put some cottonballs in your nose, i mean not where people would notice though, just like half a cotton ball inside each nostril. You'd have to breathe through your mouth though, and it might not be that comfortable....but temperarily I think it would be okay. Sorry if this wasn't that helpful. But I do think you are right about going to the party! And to be honest with you I don't think anyone is going to mind if you do have a nose bleed, ya know? just go take care of it, and then get back to the fun. :) I really hope you decide to go.

I would go. I am embarrased sometimes, because I have a problem. While it is not a serious illness, I have a bad back. I was told when I was 16 or 17 that I have arthritis in my back and it has affected the way I walk greatly. I can't run. It hurts to do that. Periodically, I get pains in my neck, and I have to deal with them for days or weeks at a time. I just do my best not to let it affect my life. I do the things I enjoy. It may keep me from being very active in many activities, but I at least try to enjoy to the most of my ability. My girlfriend loves me and understands me with the issues I face, and I believe she helps me get through my down times when I feel left out. I know that she would like to be more active, because she is an outside type person, but she is willing to sacrafice things for me. I love her for that. So you should go to your friends party. Don't let a disability or illness keep you away from doing something that you really want to do.
