This desicion was made based on Pluto's size and obscure orbit relative to the rest of the planets.

Pluto is still a part of the solar system, along with numerous other bodies that orbit the Sun. It has simply been reclassified as a "dwarf planet" instead of a "planet." The reason for the change is that Pluto is so much smaller than any of the other "planets," and smaller than some of the moons of other planets.

It IS still part of the solar system. Some so called smart people decided that it isn't a planet.
