As long as the infection is gone, your friend should have no problems getting her ears re-pierced. This time she may want to take better care of them though.

You should never EVER remove jewelry before the infection is over. The infection can get trapped inside the body, since it has nowhere to drain.
It may take a while for her infection to clear up, and the best thing to do is a sea salt soak.
•How to do a sea salt soak•
1.Wash your hands with an anti-Bacterial or antimicrobial liquid Soap/Wash.
2.Use a disposable cup to mix your sea salt solution. Or clean your cup very well with the anti-bacterial soap.
3.Mix 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt to 8 oz of warm water. (Distilled water if possible)
4.Pour the solution into a small shot glass and dip a piece of peper towel in the solution. Place the paper towel on the piercing ( hold on both sides) Do this for 10 minutes once a day.
5.Rinse, and pat dry with another disposable paper towel.
In cases of infection its always best to see a doctor.
Do not use alcohol,(unless instructed to by your doctor) as it can be harmful to the scar tissue. Alcohol is not intended for puncture wounds, do not use it unless a doctor says its safe for you as it can be harmful if it gets in your bloodstream.
Once the wound is fully healed it is best to wait untill the skin is soft again. Fresh scar tissue is not as strong as normal skin, so wait a month or so afterwards.
If your friend got pierced with a stud gun, I would suggest getting pierced with a needle at a piercing studio. It is more hygenic, more stereile and the jewlery allows for more swelling.
Why ear piercing guns suck.

After it heals i think it would be ok to repearce. I would wait about a month though. Just make sure you clean it and take care of it. When you get them repearced, buy solution to clearn your earing with. But even if you get an infectin don't take out the earing. I got an infection my first time too.

i am not sure if it would cause a problem or not but a piercing specialist would be able to tell you in the case of her ears i would use a jergens antibacterial soap it is one of the best for cleaning and helps to prevent serious infection again once it is repierced.

Your friend sounds like she may be allergic to fake jewelry, unless the studs were real then she needs to go to the dermatologist, personally i can not wear fake jewelry, I recently had my cartlage pierced and they were so so sore until i was able to remove the studs and replace with the real thing, I would say try again, just remember to keep it clean extra clean and DONT BE FAKE:))) and you wont FLAKE!!! get it ha ha

first of all make sure the infection is completely gone. second the scare tissue will make it harder to pierce. you should really have a professional do it. third it's probably not a good idea to get them repierced, but if your hell bent on it have it done the right way.
