Marx wrote the Manifesto to popularize his ideas about politics and economics. His ideas became popular with the poor factory workers because it gave them hope that they could not only gain power, but also create a better world.

I'm a socialist.. but Karl Marx was a fool.

His reason for writing the communist manifesto was most likely for philosophical reasons. For him to share his ideas. It was popular among the workign class because it spoke of getting back at the greedy corporations and government keeping them down. Spoke of a near-utopia.

In my opinion Mr. Marx was wrong. But that's the point of him talking and sharing. So people can discuss.

Karl Marx believed that societies and economies evolved. First was the cave men who looked out for their basic needs. Then came the ancients, who developed the concept of property ownership and classes, where one group of people would have more money then another group. Then the feudal system, where there was the ruling political class, who had all the power and money, and the serfs, or indentured labourers, who did all the work. Then capitalism emerged, which created a third class in between the polical elite and the common workers, who were the capitalists because of their control of money, sometimes called the bourgeois. These people evolved from the traders and merchants of the feudal system, the burghers. Communism was supposed to be the final stage, when the wealth of the upper and middle classes would be redistributed evenly amongst all people. That's a pretty simple overview of it, anyway.

It didn't. The funny thing about Marx and Engels is that they predicted that urban workers would rally to communism. The truth is that Marx and Engels (neither who really knew what being a worker was) never foresaw the rise of Labor Unions, which brought urban workers the rights and wages that communism never would have.

Strangely, communism has thrived in agrarian societies. Go figure...

It was to make the poor factory workers have equal pay as the rich *** head executives of the coorperations. They thought that appealed to them. Which is how Karl Marx used his propaganda.. Psychological tactics never fail.
