If you are still living with your parents, then you are under their authority, and as a Christian, you are to do what they say even if you don't agree with it. As far as the skulls go, God gave you other body parts that I am sure your mother would object to you wearing on your clothes.

However. You won't be under their roof forever, and you will need to make these judgment calls or yourself. So here is a biblical guideline you can use. Start by reading
Acts 15:1-35.
Romans 14:22-23
1 Corinthians 6:12
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
1 Corinthians 8:1-13
1 Corinthians 10:27-33

Then answer these 10 questions for each choice you have to make.
1. Is it forbidden in the New Testament?
2. Does it violate my conscience?
3. Is it profitable (does it build you up)?
4. Will it control me?
5. Will it harm my body?
6. Will it cause another Christian to stumble?
7. Will it hinder my ability to share Christ with non-Christians?
8. Can I do it to the glory of God?
9. Will it unnecessarily offend others?
10. Am I doing this out of selfishness, or out of love for others?

Well tell your mom it's either skull clothes or uber tight and very short pleather mini skirt with a sheer see through top.
Really, in contrast to all the stuff you could be wearing, skull clothing is quite tame.
Remind your mom that your Christianity is what comes from the inside, no what you wear. Just as long as you are dressed with modesty and tact, I see nothing wrong with this pattern.

There so many superstitions introduced into Christianity by the corrupt worldly priests that a shirt with skull is cool thing to do! Check out recent order by the Pope that superstition like Devil and exorcism be propagated among ignorant Christian masses: details:

Shoes can't change your faith, or lead you on the road to Hell. I'm assuming your mother associates skulls with goths and therefore thinks they're evil. While I would refrain from telling your mom to grow up and be a little less uptight, you might want to see if you can compromise with her.

Tell your mom to shut up and pretend it's Jesus's skull.

illiria: I'm not a christian, and I dislike the extreme ones as much as you seem to, but you can't take the actions of one idiot and claim them as typical of a group they happen to be a member of. Have you noticed how many christians here have said that there is nothing wrong with it? Kinda disproves your theory, no?

Same old same old. See? That is exactly what I am talking about. It is NOT wrong to wear skull clothes. I do. Christians do NOT believe in free will. That is why your mother said that too you.

There's nothing wrong with a symbol of death. As there is death, there's life and as there's good, there's bad. No? Then, what is the matter? Your parents attitude just makes us afraid of the unknown, more than we are already. Life is part of death. I don't see the problem.

catholics have a history of usage and misusage of the skull icon. in italy it is a taboo, but here in america and mexico we use these as christians/catholics to celebrate the dead (ie day of the dead, oct 31 to nov 1)
