He was a better Bond than Timothy Dalton (what a stiff). I also liked Brosnan in Matador too.
But are we ready for a female Bond (something like an illigitimate offspring of James. I'd put Rosamund Spike on the list for the role - she played Miranda Frost in Die Another Day).

Great, no. But he can be very good. I recommend an early movie of his, TAFFIN. Filmed in Ireland, he plays an unofficial debt collector, who uses brains and brawn to collect for his clients. He reluctantly fights for his home village against the criminally connected types who want to develop the village. He knows that eventually, he'll be standing alone when the townspeople stop supporting the campaign when the going gets tough. Kind of a Travis McGee flavor; a knight errant, or as Raymond Chandler wrote:
"Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid. The detective must be a complete man and a common man and yet an unusual man. He must be, to use a rather weathered phrase, a man of honor. He talks as the man of his age talks, that is, with rude wit, a lively sense of the grotesque, a disgust for sham, and a contempt for pettiness."
Brosnan does a fine job of living up to Chandler's wisdom in TAFFIN.

In terms of acting... he just seems to be reprising the same role over and over again. I don't think I've seen him in his "element" like, just... yet=P
For some reason, he has this look, I can't quite make out if he's in pain or constipated, lol *sorry, but it's true*
As far as the James Bond franchises are... he doesn't hold a candle to Sir Sean Connery, now that's a great A-C-T-O-R.

I can't convince myself that he is a great actor or great in his acting. He just have that charisma that they're looking for a James Bond character.

I was never really a fan until I saw "The Tailor of Panama," in which I thought he was excellent. I also liked him in the more recent "The Matador."
