I am only 4 days late, which I know is not much...my husband and I both really want a child, though. We lost our first through an early miscarriage. Should I give up hope now? I don't want to lead myself on.

It will show on a home test now. I would take it in the morning when you first wake up, it will give you better results.

You don't have to wait to miss a period. You can find out as soon as 10 days after conceiving (that's how long I waited before taking a test). I believe with the proper test, you can find out 72 hours after conceiving. Just take a test if you've been trying to get pregnant. Chances are... you might be!

I found out the week before my period was due. There are test out there that detect the hormone early.

you can take a test the first day you miss your period... there are some you can take a few days before you miss your period too!
