I used to miss work alot, i didn't mind working, just didn't mind missing either. But in the last year and a half i've called in sick twice and I always want to be at work, I work loads of overtime and I always try to keep busy at work.

i've had a full time job since i was 16 and im going on 30. Is this just a normal change of life, because, I see other guys my age and older that are lazy and they miss alot of work and complain alot.

When you are young, the whole universe is an adventure. As you get older, you get more responsibilities. Pretty soon, you are married with children. Work becomes more serious as you try to climb the ladder in your career.

Most humans however, try to take the easy road. That is why companies are filled with mediocre personalities who frequently get competent workers fired. They are a threat to those workers who want to "retire" in this or that company.

If you have a job you really like, thats cool, If your into working alot of overtime and making lots of money thats even better, its nice to have money in your pocket, to be able to go out and buy yourself nice things as a result of working hard, just don't let the job take over, there are more important things in life than spending all your time on a job, Remember everything in moderation, to much of one thing is not good, at least you know the overtime is there if you need it, when I was young my father was always working, he made lots of money, but he never took my mother or me on a vacation, never took the family out for dinner, never bought us anything, just saved it, now he's in his 70's and has all this money and no one talks to him, now he sits in his apartment counting his money all by himself, some life, don't let that happen to you.

Hate to say it, but youre getting old there..
You are finding that youthfull entertainment is more and more childish to you. Since you say you dont mind work, well then, thats all that is left to fill your time.
Dont worry about it, use your energy while you have it, but dont get out of the habit of having vacations, as you get even older you will become tired and want the breaks, so keep the habit.

Though I have less experience with having a career (still being in college) I've come to realize that my putting effort into something (such as church, personal projects, etc) is usually the result of trying to avoid something else (such as schoolwork) and looking for a good excuse to do just that.
