Some older versions of Works can simply be copied from the install folder. Right-click on the Works icon and select properties. This should indicate the folder where it is installed. Burn all the files in this folder to a CD. Make a new series of folders on your laptop PC matching those on your desktop. Copy the contents of the CD to this new folder. Try running it.

If that doesn't work, if both desktop and laptop are Windows XP, you can always setup remote desktop on your desktop, connect to it from your laptop and run Works remotely.

Finally, you can buy a copy for your desktop and install it :). This is the way Microsoft would probably prefer...

Unless you have the installation CD's it's not likely to work. You could try using a transfer program like "PC Relocator".

Also, if your Works was preloaded on the Desktop, with an OEM license, you'd be violating the license agreement.
