then added 3.1416xxxxx feet to it, how much would that string rise above the surface?

The diameter of the string would increase by one foot, so the rise would be 6 inches(?) if it was equal all the way around, or one foot higher if the part on the opposite side of the planet stayed touching the ground, I guess.
