no point at all. Life without love isn't life at all.

The way I see it, immortality would make love a lot less useful. I see love as spurning from the fear of losing something treasured. That's why love often takes on a possessive, protective and loyal behavioral form. When I think of immortality, I think of being preserved in a relatively young, call it 25, and healthy state. If that is the case, you really wouldn't need to have children because you'd never die. So romantic love would be a lot less important. You wouldn't need to be protected from harm as much, so social endeavors may become less important, which would probably lead to less platonic love. I think immortality would make love a lot less important because love is a socially adaptive emotion that aids the survival of the self and the species. If you wouldn't die, love as we know it would be sort of obsolete, and perhaps replaced by a new form of love.

Immortality, as in my immortal soul, or mortal immortality, such that the I who now exists never dies? If I am immortal, then screw love. In the end, there can be only one. Obviously, I'll have get a sammurai sword and kill all the other immortals running loose in this mortal world. Oh, but if it's the immortal soul thingee, than, yeah, sure, love would be cool...or whatever.

Personally, without love it would be meaningless - what else can lift us so high? But....

....with it, to love a mortal would bring the darkest pain as you would have to watch them wither and die - for me the worst form of toture imaginable.
