Hey, it's human nature. Human nature destroys the earth's nature. I'm an enviromentalist though, and I use energy star fluorescent light bulbs, collect organic waste for compost, don't turn on the air even if it's boiling, keep my electric bill under 50 a month, and recycle as much as possible. So for the future's sake, do all of the above. I'm also a Christian and Christians have no more fault than anyone else who contributes to the earth's destruction.

Hi, I'm Kitty and I'm a 31 year old american living in Missoula, Montana. My answere to that is that most people live in the here and now and don't think "it can happen to me", or "in my life-time". It's mostly instant gratification. I want what I want, and I want it now! The rest I'll think about or deal with later. I think it's really too bad that that's the case because we really live in a beautiful world and I think that there are always other choices to the same wants and needs, wether it be at a personal level or greater than!! I hope I have been somewhat helpful. Have a great evening.

your right, we are so ignorant, the common person knows nothing of the impact we have on our enviroment.
We are oblivious and we'll be paying for our neglect later if we don't wise up.
Economic services which are vital to life on earth and even our industrialized economy, agriculture and much more are all in jeporady. Estimates are that in the few decades, if we don't alter our habbits, humans may dramatically alter earths remaining natural ecosystems..
Another reason we don't take ecosystems into consideration is we don't pay an upfront fee for them. But the value of ecosystems are in the trillions, and if we screw it up were fu(ked

Unfortunalty, we all tend to be stubborn in making the changes needed... we would rather deny problems than trying to acknowledge and fix them, and we all tend to be selfish as far as the world is concerned. People concerntrate mainly on how things affect them day to day, not nationally, not globally. And if changes require much sacrafice, you will have a large portion unwilling to do so without immediate recognition or personal gain.
