Seattle is beautiful in December. Portland too. Anchorage is awesome. Ya gotta love the Pacific Northwest.

Go skiing anywhere in the north, go hiking in the desert anywhere in the south, take a 3 day cruise if you've got some cash to burn,

depends on where you live.....
Lake Punderson, near cleveland ohio is a good spot.....
if you are out west, i suggest the natural arches park in utah......
beautiful in december, if you are into spookie tails-supposedly the lodge is haunted...... cabins are available too.
