I believe that everyone in the world has both good and evil in them. Question is, is it easy to be good, or even easier to be evil. ie, have you ever got road rage when driving you car, got offended by a coment someone said, or even hurt feelings from something said in the past, and then your mind thinks I should do so and so, and then you think no, I will not. Some thinks it is in upbringing, others thinks its in mind control. Others thinks it is in your destany? What do you think, why do people do some of the bad things they do, and why do people do good? Learned or is it gods will, or just unknown? Any comments, good, bad, or whatever. Thanks for reading. This question will be decided by vote.

freesumpin, Yes I admit spelling is my weak spot, and I cannot get Yahoo Amswers spell check to work, and I do not have spell check on my computer. I am going to buy a good spell checker but for now I do not have the extra cash to do so. I have to do the best I can and hope people will over look some of my bad spelling. I am sincere in my questions and try to keep an open mind and learn. Thank you for your comment.

I believe that most of us get a lot of attention during the early years. Everyone is doing their best to take care of us, and we really get spoiled. The world is there for us and we don't have to do a thing. As we get older, we are forced to be more self reliant. We still have that urge to be selfish. Once we realize that everyone else has traveled that same path, then it is easier to relate. The golden rule really works if everyone believes in it. It only fails when someone is thinking more about themselves then the greater good. You can't change the past, but you can learn from it. If you have been hurt by someones word, you can either learn the power of the word and chose you words better not to hurt someone else, or you can seek revenge. I don't want to get into what is God's will because that is a totally long discussion not to have any fruition in a short paragraph. What goes around comes around. If you are negative to others, then you will receive more negativity in return.

Good and Evil. Excellent question. In our earliest existence, our species was a nomadic one. We tended to go where the resources were. Water, hunting, shelter, weather conditions, we went where it was best. I have a feeling when we met each other we tended to take a wide birth of each other and just went past. then came ownership! We found that particular spot where all these resources were plentiful and we were comfortable. When we began to work the land and toil and reap the fruit and started claiming ownership from the amount of effort imposed on the land. I planted this corn field, it is mine. Then the meetings between groups occured more often. One with plenty, one starving. One will to take, one willing to defend. Is evil, trying to survive. Does evil show its face in a parent fighting for its childs survival. No, evil is a little more incidious then that. Evil rears its head where it isn't necessary. Evil is that act of cruelty where unnecessary. The killing with a full stomach. The taking when you are the wealthiest. The fraud or lie when you know the truth. Mostly, the lust for power. The desire to control.
I've known many educated evil people and some good poor ones. It's not so easy to walk away from this one as your trying to play it. Imagine you met god and he said to argue your life and all its deeds in order to get into heaven. You've planned for this, but before you start, god pulls out a mirror and places it infront of you and says, don't argue it to me, argue it to him and points to your reflection in the mirror, who smiles back at you. we all have a choice in life, many choices, and its not going to be as easy as saying it was nature or nurture but it wasn't me.

Sir, good and evil is a matter of perception. It was good in the Roman times to watch the gladiators die; likewise, some tribes in South America(non-Amazon) used to rape their captives in an attempt to demoralize their opponents. That is bad to our standards, but it was heroic in those days. So, good and evil is a matter of perception. I recall back in the early eighties, Pope John Paul nagged Monsignor Oscal A. Romero of El Salvador for protecting those without rights. According to that Pope it was bad to do good. Because of this pope Monsignor Romero was killed and Pope John Paul rejoiced. In my eyes, what Pope John Paul did was evil.
In short, perception is everything.

For some people its easier to be evil and others good. One of the things that makes everybody different. For me though. I find it very hard to be good and i find it very hard to be evil also. I like cussing, but i'm nice.
It also depends on what people think is good and evil. Sometimes, evil for me isn't for you and vice versa.

There is no universal concept of good or evil. The ridiculous bifurcation is an artificial construct for the implantation of social mores into undeveloped psyches.

People do bad and good because of their life experiences. I believe everyone does the things they do for a reason, if simply to teach other people lessons, people they don't even know maybe.

It's all choices, consequences and self interest.
Doing evil usually has instant gratification but good has the better consequences so we choose.
