alot of answers here say to move the file from the shared folder. while that is good advice, might i add that in options-uploads you can change the number of mximum uploads slots to 0, and disable partial file sharing, also you can turn down the upload bandwidth here too. i would suggest if you have broadband you change the maximum number of downloads to something like 50, it helps keep the speed up when you have slow sources.
good luck
one more thing, if you are going to violate copryright law, then why pay for the full version of limewire, just download the full version from in limewire.

Everybody's doing it and I don't know anybody who has ever gotten in trouble. If it was really illegal then it would be shutdown. They found a loophole somewhere. If you really feel guilty, just pay the 19 bucks for the Pro version. And as far as getting carried away who cares how many songs? I have downloaded 500 in a day. And a tip if you don't leave them in a share folder people will not let you download from them. If you don't share it's not fair. If everybody hid their files there wouldn't be anything to download.

I use limewire now and again. I HAVE GOTTEN INTO TROUBLE!!!!! Not by law but by a virus.Be careful. There is a p2p file sharing virus. Dont be so quick to download programs such as I did. I got rid of the virus but it screwed up some folders in my pc. If i were you, I would just stick to the songs. AND DO NOT SELL THEM FOR PROFIT!!!!. To me this is when d-loading music is wrong.

Not yet. They would have to charge the people who made Lime Wire first. Then the artists could come after you if they chose to...like Metallica. But I don't think government agencies are patrolling that kind of thing.

I was told that you couldn't get in trouble. If you are still worried, as soon as you download the file, right click the file and click "Stop Sharing".

no, just make sure to move them from the folder after they are downloaded.
what i mean is, after they r downloaded, they automatically get put ina shared folder, where others can download them. so u don't get caught, after every song, move it to a special folder so that way no one can know u downloaded it
i download stuff to...and trust me, more then songs. lol

It's possible. Try using Peer Guardian to block many of the known IP's that are harmful.
