your question is incomplete .. Mitochondiral DNA is carried through the female line and therefore it is possible to trace a persons ancestory back as far as the dawn of history ((Look for a book called "The seven daughters of Eve" (It's not religious))the other DNA is subject to too many possible variants and therefore beyond the fourth generation becomes difficulty to prove direct descendancy.. so YES in principal but be aware of the type of DNA that is tested

It can confirm that there is a probability of relatedness, but at this stage, it can't say if you are 3rd or 4th cousins. I know someone who did a DNA test and it showed that he descended from the Norsk people (Vikings) Cool! I wonder if I'm related to him...

you want many others are starting to be conned out of money for outcomes that are questionable............. deliver off an analogous DNA to numerous businesses advert you receives numerous outcomes back............. in my view i imagine those businesses providing DNA want preventing, they do no longer have the markers to practice what they say they do, so pretend claims or truly very deceptive claims...................... except they're sorting out one DNA pattern hostile to a distinct DNA pattern to verify you've eg figure and new child relationship..if no longer then they're searching at 'opportunities' 1000's of years in the past.................
