left brain right brain?

Question

Apparently, we only use one side of the brain. So, if we can't use one side of the brain, how can some people write with thier left hand?
Why do we have one side of the brain not in use?

We use both sides of our brains...people refer to someone as being right brained or left brained because a person is usually right brain dominant, or left brain dominant. Here is an on-line test to see which side is your dominant side.

Actually, we use both sides of the brain. The brain has two hemispheres for a couple of reasons. Each side of the brain is a back up for certain systems, and specialized for certain functions (i.e. speech, spatial reasoning, etc.) Both sides of the brain are used at all times though. In a simple example: If you are writing something your left side is processing language, while your right side may be processing any pictures you are looking at. Dr. Larry Schutz is revolutionizing this field, and his crowning achievement is titled: Broad-Perspective Perceptual Disorder of the Right Hemisphere.

Almost every body uses both sides, that´s the average person...but we don´t use them equally, we use one side more than the other, which side we use more depends whether you are right, if you are artistic, a thinker...etc.
