Nothing... He knows what he likes and im sure you wouldn't want him to change because you're scared that he might not be "normal" He's a healthy boy who just likes doys, maybe he'll be a great father someday because he's learning to nurture now. Give him a wide range of toys (inculding doys, balls, trucks, etc.)

I detect your concern may be that it isnt masculine enough. Its the idea that there are boy toys and girl toys. I personally think that toys such as guns, knives, etc are bad for children. Why would a toy that teaches nurturing be a bad thing.
Instead of taking away the dolls, I suggest you get him involved in an active lifestyle, and let him continue to play with his dolls. My model for this is my boyfriend Jamie. Jamie is a sweet nurturing 13 year old boy that I love with all my heart. Im 13 too. Jamie is extremely strong and physically active.
He's my hero and when Im with him I feel safe from all harm. He's also very virile. I think you should let your son be sweet and nurturing but get him involved in physical activity too. Your son will have the best of both worlds.
NO Toy guns or swords ever.

I would see what kind of doll he is interested in. I would show him boy dolls first and action figures. If he wanted a girl doll or a frilly doll, I would get it for him. I might get him a building type set so he could build a tree house etc for the doll.
My son is 12 and straight and he still collects stuffed animals. Maybe you could steer him toward those. Maybe his doll could have animals.

If he sees his sisters or girls he is friends with playing with dolls he doesnt understand why he cant. If they are all playing with them together than thats fine.. dont make him feel bad for playing.. he doesnt get the whole gender seperation thing yet. When alone though, try to focus his attention on action figures. Tell him they are "boy dolls".. Ninja turtles, Power rangers, GI joe, Batman, Spiderman, and Transformers all have action figures.. get ones that do cool stuff like shoot little arrows and balls and stuff. His mind set will change with time.

Its ok at this age. He might make a great daddy someday. Teach him how to love the baby doll so someday when he has a baby he knows what to do. They learn by play at this age and if he wants to play house I say let him. My nephew is 5 and loves his baby doll as well as his GI Joe.

I've read in plenty of magazines that it's normal for boys to play with dolls. ( As long as they aren't in high school and still playing with them.) But they said that boys who play with dolls when they are young make the best fathers when they are older. So i'd let him go on and play with them until it gets out of hand.

Let him. Get him an action figure doll or a GI Joe doll. There is nothing wrong with it. He will be a good daddy some day.

Give him the doll he wants even if it's barbie. Gender is a social construct anyways and the rigid definitions of gender are on the decline. Would you rather your little boy grow up to be a macho idiot who's ashamed of his so called feminine traits or an open minded person who is happy with himself and what he likes?
