No it is never ok to use starting fluid, unless you are in dire emergency.
Get a tune - up.
That will save you alot of money
Starting fluid is very very dry and causes super wear on rings

If you really MUST, but don't use very much, and only if you MUST. The stuff is way too hot for regular use in an engine.
It is a cheat. Find the cause of the hard start and repair it. Cheaper in the long run.

no it is not a good ideal , starting fluid dries out the piston walls
and this causes engine wear.

it would be OK to use very little of it,,you don't need much to see if its going to fire,,good luck with it.
