no, they shouldn't cause then we wouldn't have penny jars to take to the coin machine thing-a-ma-jig and then be sooooo surprised to find out that we over the course of a year or so we have like 30 dollars in pennies!! its so exciting. and then there's always that extra penny that you sometimes need at the store when you're paying like some number and .02 cents. pennies are useful!

I think it depends on how many they are making. I don't believe they are making as many as they would for lets say quarters. But to stop making them altogether? I don't think that would ever happen. People do actually use them. Its money. I hate when I see people throwing down pennies. Its all money. And I believe that somehow if they did stop making them one day that there many be a shortage on them later. We need them because if not the price of things will go up because everything would be rounded off to the nearest fives or maybe even tens. So no. I don't think so. It just all depends on how many of them that they are making now.

Yes, they are not even used at overseas military locations, because it costs too much to ship them. Instead, they just round up or down to the fives. It is so much easier. Now that I am back in the States, I hate getting pennies back in change. I never use them ever again. In my view, using pennies takes money out of the economy.

It is interesting that pennies cost more than one penny to produce now, with the price of copper going up.

Yes, they could make a 12 1/2 cent Bit and it would work better mathematically for Sales Tax.

No way.

I know pennies are like almost pointless but I don't think we should take them out.

I personally think yes, but my daughter would have a fit. She's 3 and loves collecting them in a jar.

Yep, it's silly to continue making them when it costs more than they are worth.
It's wasteful.
