Do you see marriage in the future? I'm not saying go all out and get the girl an engagement ring, ( although if it was me dating you after 5 years without a ring, I'd be packing my bags by now), but EVERY girl LOVES DIAMONDS. Look into tennis bracelets, pendants, earring studs ( everything except for a ring if you don't want to marry her soon). Another idea is to plan a weekend trip together. If she is an outdoors type of lady, maybe go to a national park, caverns, beach, lake, theme park, ect. If she is a not, try booking a spa appointment for the two of you to get massages together. I hope my suggestions help spark your imagination. Good Luck!

Take her to the Mall just to window shop and watch what catchs her eye.
or be more creative and give her a call and ask her to meet at a bar in a hotel. Act as if this were your first meeting, make sparks fly again. Use a different name, open doors for her, tell her how beautiful she is and how lucky her boyfriend must be. Book a room before hand and set it up: use rose peddles, candles, chocolates, whipped cream.use you imagination. Tease and take it every, every slow...

How about a lovely wooden statue? There are some symbolic male/female hugging ones that are quite nice about the place.
My husband got me one for our five year anniversary. Wood is the symbolic material for a five year anniversary gift.
