Your administrator can temporarily disable your account but you will miss anything that tried to come in and people may think that account is permanently disabled or deleted.

The best thing to do is to set up an out of office auto reply telling folks when you are gone and when you will be back. At the same type set up a rule to send all mail to a newly created folder. When you return you can turn off the out of office and delete (or stop) the rule. Then you can look through the folder to ensure nothing important is in there aand then delete the entire folder in one fell swoop.

Not really. However, you can access your email from most any computer, most any where. So during your vacation just view it every couple of days and manage it that way. Then you won't have a pile of crap to wade through when you get back.

......You can also set an Auto Respond that lets people know you won't be responding to their messages until after your vacation.
