This site allows you to view all agencies that need volunteers near your home. Type in your zipcode and click your interests or things that you are good at and it will show you everything.

I would speak to your own school guidance department. They may be able to suggest ways you can help at your school or in the community. Also, contact the local Red Cross. They can always use people to help out at hospitals and other facilities. Stop in at the library and see if they need volunteers. Are there any group homes for assisted living places for elderly or disabled people near you? I'm sure they won't care if you look young. You could read to the residents, play games, and take them out for walks. What about elementary schools in your area or after school activity centers. They would love to have a high school student (no matter how young she looks) help tutor the younger kids. What about your local government office? Do they need someone to file papers, answer phones, take people around their building. What about refugee centers or literacy groups (often through government offices or libraries)? They always need people to help new Americans learn English.

There are many ways in which you could do community service in you neighborhood. Look beyond the formal c.s. programs. Good luck. I commend you for your efforts.

Contact your local Chamber of Commerce. It can put you in touch with philanthropic organizations. Police departments could be a good resource for you too.
