First do theses things
Set budget per person,
Make a list if who,
Then ask them their hobbies,
Favorite thing,
Favorite color,
Favorite music or artist,
Favorite movie they want or movie theme they collect.
If they like to read who is their favorite writer and what book do they want if it is a series?
If they go to church and enjoy church, a book called the bible promise book has allot of inspiration. If they need a bible cover with straps get that. If they like board games see what games they haven’t got yet, but would love to. Games are cheap depending on their level.
Places you can shop cheap, but cool is flea markets, dollar stores, family dollar, dollar general, big lots, check clearance stuff in Wal-Mart, target est. look in ebay and even a web site called
http://www.abcdistributing.com/ its like Fingerhut only better,
If you are sewing creative you can make bags, pillow or even a blanket with a personal touch. You can mix that with what their favorite color is. If they are collectors of comics or baseball cards check your local hobby shops. Even hobby lobby had great gifts low prices if you go by a theme. If you have an artist to buy for get them an art kit, especially with all the school supplies still out.
Example’s = if they like soccer or play soccer get a poster of a famous soccer player, favorite color theme in their room and what they would like in their room. If they like jewelry you can check jewelry stores for their clearance stuff, if they loose hair dealies get them a large set of their favorite colors. If they like certain soaps or lotions get them that. Boys are probably allot of sports watch out for academy sports sales. See if they need sports socks or kneepads, warm clothes (sweats are cheap to get if they do allot of outside fall winter activities)
All theses can help broaden your search as well as different things to choose from. Put one thing to remember make sure they are not planning on buying them before Christmas comes and if they do hold onto all the receipts, plus what ever you buy make sure you tell others so they don’t but them also. Plus you need to make sure if they have a birthday before Christmas you see what they received then. That will change things sometimes.

The kids might be a little bit tougher, but for the adults it pays to know what sort of hobbies, collections, etc. they have. Get a feel for what they're passionate about. Then go to eBay and find something related to that. For example: my brother is a huge Tampa Bay Bucs fan, so I found a vintage copy of Sports Illustrated from their first year as an NFL team (they were the cover story). I put the magazine in an inexpensive frame. Voila! A gift he absolutely loved and it cost me less than ten dollars.
The 14 year old, I'd go with a gift card to FYE or Tower, somewhere he can buy a CD.
For the girls you can get Bratz, which aren't especially pricey, or if they're artistically inclined you can pick up something to paint (wood or ceramic) at Michael's or AC Moore, some inexpensive brushes and a few bottles of acrylic paint. You have plenty of time to wait; the 2 ounce bottles go on sale (4 for $1) all the time.
The 3 year old, just find out what he's watching on TV and get something from that universe (Barney, Sesame Street, Thomas). That one doesn't have to be big or fancy.
Good luck!

Try some thing homemade..for the adults anyway. It's usually cheaper & more from the heart then something bought. Kids might not appreciate a homemade gift as much, although handmade doll clothes might be an idea for a girl. Try a visit to the dollar store u can pick a few things and make up baskets.

Just bear in mind that the gift should be suited to the recipient. These are people you know well, right? Then you should have some idea of the sort of thing they would like. No matter what the gift is, fortunately, prices are all over the place. If all else fails, sneak in a question about some of the things they would like. They will usually tell you. Happy hunting!

Make something yourself. It's not the amount of money one spends on a gift. It's the thought behind it that matters most. You can buy Latch hooks in all sorts of patterns these days and there not expensive and are easy to do. You could buy material and make Pillows for people. Even baking cookies and placing them in a decorative dish is a Sweet gift. Check the craft department at a Store like Wall Mart. You could even make Bracelets or necklaces. You can even buy stuff and make candles.

I think that Visa gift cards for the older ones is a good idea. It could be about 25.00 and that way they can get what they want. I did that last year with my family and they loved it. They used them for food, gas and other necessities. The little ones could get a little toy or even a deposit into a savings account. If that doesn't work, then go to the Disney Store, all the kids love Disney!

The little ones won't really care what they get as long as they get something. They won't be concerned with how expensive it was. For the older ones, maybe take them to a movie or have them over for dinner. Or you could suggest to your family that you do a "secret Santa" exchange instead of everyone buying everyone gifts. I think most people would appreciate saving some money around the holidays!

You can bake cookies, make fudge or other goodies. Go to the dollar store or Big Lots and get inexpensive christmas tins and put the goodies in there. Kids love sweets. Adults love sweets. This is a good gift for anyone. You really don't even have to get the tins. Put the goodies in a ziplock bag and wrap them up in a box.

For the youngest one crayons and coloring books are inexpensive. Small craft kits from craft stores are very inexpensive. For older folks baked goods are nice but gift certificates for your services are also effective. For instance a certificate to vacuum the house, wash the car, do dishes, do the laundry, cook a meal, etc. can be really appreciated. Of course relatives most appreciate just knowing you love them and a hand made card saying so reinforced with a big hug is probably the best gift anyone could get.

This is an idea for the 6/7 year old girls. My daughter really loves the Polly Pocket dolls. Very often you can find them at Big Lots/Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Tuesday Morning for a fairly reasonable price. She also really seems to like the Kids Bop CD's, but you may want to check with the parents first.
Good luck!
