No, it does not. It actually messes with your brain and can cause long lasting problems. It can effect your ability to think clearly even for years into the future.

A lot of artists were using when I was in college and their art was rubbish. I experimented a few times and was amazingly pleased of my work while looking at it while high. The next morning is another story as everything ended up in the trash. It was non-creative, was lacking control of the medium and technique and oozed pretentiousness. I've learnt to open my creativity by myself, without the need of any substance or other crutch.

I thought the same but weed has never helped me. It doesn't inspire and takes all the desire to do anything else other than being in a contemplative state (great for watching soccer, though!). It actually kills creativity. My best work is always been thought and done completely sober.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not..
If you feel creative, it may offer new ideas..
If you do not feel creative, it will not suddenly inspire you..
It is a pretty benign drug..
Too bad it fell victim to the governments propaganda and misguided
war on drugs which by the way , is an employment program for law enforcement & judicial agencies & bureaucrats around the world.

I am a artist, and although I don't do drugs... I can't write or paint if I'm drunk! I think if you create art while high, its the high drawing, not you. meditate, light some incense, dream.... then draw. it will inspire you, and you can really get some trippy art going. listen to some music, preferably native American, or soothing drum beats, it will really get the creativity going. do it when your mad, or happy, and just go with it. don't try to put things on the canvas or paper, try to see whats already on the "inside" of the paper. don't ever turn to drugs for inspiration, though. its just not you. you cant put your signature on the bottom of the page then, you might as well sign it "Mary Jane"

I am an artist. I have found that my best pieces, were produced beforeI ever used drugs. After I stopped using the quality came back. If you are natrually creative, drugs are not beneficial.

it depends on the person. if you are naturally a very creative person then marijuana will simply enhance this creativity. remember, most of the world's greatest artists were potheads.

No, it inspires either paranoia or sleepiness. If you'd like some "out there" art, Google fractals and go to fractal artist Cory Ench's site. His stuff is superb and way far out there.
