In your question, we'd is a contraction of 'we had'. It can also be used as a contraction of 'we would' as in "We'd have spaghetti if it were on the menu."

I've never seen we'd used as a contraction of we should. Technically it could be, but it'd probably sound as though you were saying 'we would' instead. For example if you wanted to say "We should take an umbrella" and you said "We'd take an umbrella" it sounds like you're saying "We would take an umbrella." Which has a completely different meaning. So Chrissy is actually completely wrong.

Remarkable.

Yes, the contraction is correct. Think of contractions as combining two words to make one shorter word.
We would = We'd.
I will = I'll.
She's = She is.
etc.

It's remarkable, I am able to remark.

1. We Had... We would better? It doesn't make sense.

2. Remarkable... the dictionary is your friend.

we'd could mean "we would" or "we should"... in the spaghetti sentence "we should" seems to make more sense.

I agree with Chrissy on this one, on all those points.
