Are you using coolant? Do you watch the temp gauge? Is it running hot? Did it overheat? What you describe sounds like a lost engine, (Head gasket, cracked head) Does the inside of your oil cap look like a chocolate milkshake? If yes to any of these, you are looking at a pretty hefty repair. Good Luck

replace that engine coolant temperature sensor.
not the sending unit but the sensor to the computer.

It's staying in cold eng. enrichment strategy.
It is likely unpluged, or even a broken wire, or faulty sensor.
Either way this will not set eng light because cold eng is within normal operating parameters.

Sounds like a cracked head or block, or a broken head gasket. Big job. Follow instructions very carefully. Or let mechanic do it. (But NOT a dealer).
