Taiwan has it's own constitution.
Taiwan has a different name (ROC, not PRC)
Taiwan has free elections and its own fully functioning government and military.
They have their own currency.
China has no direct control over Taiwan's affairs.
Taiwan has free speech and a just legal system.
Just go to Taiwan and you'll see that they function just like any other sovereign nation.

Anyone who says Taiwan is not an independent country is just throwing political lies.

It is a fact. Taiwan is a separate country. Even if China or anyone else claims otherwise, it doesn't make it a fact. REALITY folks, not political hyperbole. Canada functions more like it is part of the U.S. than Taiwan of China. And Canada's definitely an independent country.

BTW--those "losers" (the KMT) who left China and came to Taiwan (and were as murderous and corrupt as the communists), they are only a small part of the population. They really don't have much right to declare Taiwan is part of China. Taiwan was only part of China from 1890 to 1895. Can these please leave the Taiwanese alone? Thanks!

When the revolution hit China, the Democratically elected leaders escaped to Taiwan. For decades the US refused to recognize the leadership on the mainland, claiming that the leaders that were exiled on Taiwan were the rightful rulers of China. After Nixon (who was a Republican gem), the US made the choice to recognize the communist leadership on the mainland as China's official government. China considers Taiwan a rogue state, very much a part of China but kind of a naughty child. The US has made it clear to mainland China that any military action against Taiwan will not be tolerated. There is, a quiet but tense standoff as a result. They have been and always will be apparently, the Republic of China, Taiwan.

1. Not exactly. Taiwan is governed by leaders inside Taiwan people, not by CCP(Chinese Communist Party), namely, autonomic regime.
2. Taiwan is part of Great China, so is the mailand China, the Hongkong, the Macow. They are all of China.
3. it has nothing to do with how are these regions ruled, and has nothing to do with which party or gov are these regions governed by.
4. It has nothing to don with the history when China was invaded and then occupied by western powers and by Japan.
5. when talk to the fact, the most realistic fact is that on this planet most of countries admit that Taiwan is part of China.
6. It was, it is, and it will be.

Nope. But it doesn't help that Taiwan called itself the People Republic of China for so long. That just confuses people.
