"Tangled Up Puppet" by Harry Chapin. He was best known for "Cat's in the Cradle" actually. "Tangled Up Puppet" is a sweet little tune about a mother watching her daughter grow up and slip away, as teenagers tend to do. It was originally on the album "Portrait Gallery" released in 1975, and you should also be able to find it on a few greatest hits compilations.
