My pimple seems to be gone, but now I have a dime size red mark on my skin. I am a guy so I do not have make-up to conceal it. I heard toothpaste, benzoyl peroxide, egg white, basil, visine, & numerous other remedies but am not sure which one really works. From experience, can you tell me what I should put on the pimple overnight to reduce the redness? Thanks.

Wash your face with dial soap, rinse well with warm then cool water and pat dry.
Then apply with a cotton ball 70% Isopropyl Alcohol at least twice a day to get the redness to go away.
This has worked for both my sons when they had this problem and now they know how to treat it if and when it happens again.
Makeup would only make matters worse for the condition anyway.
Best of luck and in a day or two the redness will be gone.

After you wash it, try putting some anti-biotic ointment on it (Neosporin, etc.) It will reduce chances that the pore will become re-infected, and speed healing.

The only other suggestion I have is to ice the spot- the redness is inflamation, and the cool will bring that swelling down.. Visine may also do the same thing, but I've never tried it.

Benzoyl peroxide will actually increace incident of acne, even if it takes care of the one little monster....

If you have a sister or mom (or girlfriend?), you could sneak their concealer... make sure it matches your skin tone, use just a tiny bit and make sure you BLEND it!!! The last thing you want is for it to be obvious!!

Treatment – Benzoyl Peroxide
In most forms of acne, benzoyl peroxide is a highly effective treatment. Benzoyl peroxide aids in the removal of dead skin cells, suppressing the bacteria which contributes to acne. This is believed to be achieved by the benzoyl peroxide absorbing into the pores, interfering with the acne bacterial metabolism through oxidation. Benzoyl peroxide is available in varying strengths. It is recommended to start with a lower strength as stinging and redness may initially occur. When applied at night, most of the redness caused by treatment should have disappeared by morning.

don't put too much on your face, it'll make the pimple even more red. try taking a zinc supplement. zinc helps to reduce inflammation and reduce swelling when it comes to skin blemishes or irritations. if you can get your hands on a zinc tablet, try taking one orally then crushing one up and mixing it with a bit of water to make a paste, then dab that onto the area where the pimple was. other than that, keep your face clean, drink enough water, and get tons of sleep, and it'll be all cleared up in no time.

hope all goes well!

Visine does work, it is made to get the red out of eyes and it does work on blemishes. Also make sure you keep your face clean and DON"T touch it.You will keep bacteria on it ,if you keep touching it.Put the visine on a q-tip and use it several times a day. Good luck

I use a healing cream called sudocrem. Its really fast in healing the skin and therefore removing the redness. Just make sure you let it heal completely before you touch it. sunscreen is also great in putting moisture back into your skin and speeding up the healing process
