Hey, you do whatever u want sweety but you better work that skirt and make it look good!!
I would recommend going to a store like Charlotte Russe or Forever 21 for a cute and cheap skirt. A jean skirt works with everything from t-shirts to fancy tops, so that's probably a good choice for you.

Is this skirt for you to wear or for your girlfriend? If its for you then get a kilt, they look manly then a girl skirt...if its for a girl then first know the size and go into a store w/ a general idea of what you want(mini, flowery, etc) then you can just ask the salesperson to help you.

Get something that is full and loose around the hemline. It's easier to walk in that way, and personally, I think it's more manly than a pencil skirt with a slit in it.

Nothing too trendy. You want something that is a classic and will never go out of style. Something that you can dress up or dress down, but make it a very nice investment piece.
