in one of my classes i havta build a bottle rocket and i never built one befor, so i have no clue. we're being graded on how long it stays airbourne and it will carry a solid egg and if it can survive until the end after it goes up and down our air time is doubled........ from that i analyzed that the MOST important thing is to keep the egg safe because the egg is helpful in the way it can double our points but also a hindrance in which it puts more weight on the bottle rocket which makes it drop faster than normal. Does anyone have good suggestions to add to the bottle to help it stay in the air longer??.......... i was thinkin of a parachute and some kinda of feature to add to the bottle with a WIDE surface area to make is drop slower because of air resistance...

Whatever you do, don't fool around with any kind of explosive materials. You didn't say how old you are, not that it matters, but I have known people who were very experienced in the field. A couple of them are now dead, one is blind, and one has one hand missing and half of his other arm is gone. All explosive materials are VERY unpredictable, and can blow up at any time, and with no prior warning.

There isn't any teacher that wants you to build a bottle rocket capable of carrying an egg!!!

There isn't any teacher that wants you to work with explosives period, much less something that could carry an egg!!!
