You don't have to learn. But the other choices are absolutely miserable.
It is the nature of the human brain to look; evaluate; analyze; and calculate. Little kids a few weeks ago do it without training. You must be trained by the modern public school system to hate learning.

So you can become a competent individual in a challenging world. Learning is how man pulled himself out of the mud and to the top of the food chain. Learning is not just something you do at school, it is a lifelong process of observation, adaptation, and assimilation. The more you know, the better off you are.
For example, you were not born knowing how to write a question on Yahoo! Answers. First, you had to learn the English language, how to read and write, how to operate a computer, how to navigate the internet, and finally, how to submit a question.
When someone stops learning, they become stagnant. Don't become stagnant. Grow.

Would you rather go through life not knowing what was going on around you? How would you live? How would you communicate? How would you know if somebody was making fun of you at any given moment?
